RESEARCH REPORT on CSEB’s in Bangladesh

In December 2016, IHS finalized the Research Report on Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks (CSEB) in Bangladesh. IHS made this in-depth analysis on more than 2000 blocks, produced in more than 40 different mixes of earth, sand and cement. The results, supervised and reviewed in a Consultancy Contract with BUET, provided us with a very detailed report on changing characteristics of CSEB’s.

Based on our research findings, we can deduct a lot of interesting guidelines for further production. One of them is that “manual” mixing and pressing cannot guarantee a uniform quality. That is why IHS decided to invest in a semi-automated press. The ordered press was handed-over in the factory in Lekkerkerk (NL) on the 11th of January 2017.

At present, the container with press and utensils is underway to Chittagong and will be operational in our production site in Shariatpur in April 2017!
